SSC also known as Staff selection commission. It’s an organisation under the Government of India. This field is for recruitment in various ministries and departments of the government of India. This examination was Established in 1975. The SSC consists of examinations such as SSC CGL, SSC CHSL,SSC MTS and more.

1. SSC CGL (combined graduate level)

This examination is used when recruiting staff members in sectors such as ministries, departments and organizations. This examination is conducted by the staff selection commission for sectors such as the Group B and Group C.

Tier recruitment programme;

• Tier 1: Preliminary examination (online)
• Tier 2: Mains examination (online)
• Tier 3: Descriptive examination (offline)
• Tier 4: Data Entry Skill test/ computer proficiency test

The online examination consists sectors of;

• Quantitative aptitude
• General intelligence and reasoning
• English comprehension
• General awareness

Age criteria

Minimum: 18 years

Maximum: 32 years

2. SSC CHSL (Combined higher secondary level) Examination

This examinations for recruitment in posts such as a lower division clerk, data entry operator, postal assistants and so on.

Selection process

• SSC CHSL Tier 1: computer-based test
• SSC CHSL Tier 2: Descriptive paper
• SSC CHSL Tier 3: Typing and skill test

Age criteria

Maximum: 18 years

Minimum: 27 years

There are various SSC CGL posts, for instance;

1. Assistant Audit officer

Department // Indian Audit and accounts department under C&AG.

Job description // They need to assist audits in the government or public sector organisation. The job also needs travelling to ensure inspection.

2. Assistant accounts officer

Department // Indian Audit & accounts department under C&AG.

Job description // This job requires to include data entry, processing and recording various transactions. It also includes assisting audits as well as fact-checking.

3. Assistant section officer

Department // Central secretariat service, intelligence bureau, Ministry of railway, and so on.

4. Assistant

Department // Other ministries, departments and organizations.

Job description // This job comes with various clerical responsibilities in a wide range of departments. You would have to compile files, reports and more.

5. Inspector of income tax

Job description // This job consists of assessing an income tax by people or companies. You will also be able to manage TDS and refund claims.

6. Inspector (central excise)
