Different SSC examinations
The SSC examination also known as staff selection commission examination. This examination is conducted for recruiting staff members who would like to acquire the post of ministries, departments and organisations. This job is centred to the government of India. This examination was established in 1975. The SSC consists of examinations such as SSC CGL, SSC CHSL,SSC MTS and more.
SSC CGL (combined graduate level)
This examination is used when recruiting staff members in sectors such as ministries, departments and organizations. This examination is conducted by the staff selection commission for sectors such as the Group B and Group C.
Tier recruitment programme:
- Tier 1: Preliminary examination (online)
- Tier 2: Mains examination (online)
- Tier 3: Descriptive examination (offline)
- Tier 4: Data Entry Skill test/ computer proficiency test
The online examination consists sectors of:
- Quantitative aptitude
- General intelligence and reasoning
- English comprehension
- General awareness
Age criteria
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 32 years
2. SSC CHSL (Combined higher secondary level) Examination
This examinations for recruitment in posts such as a lower division clerk, data entry operator, postal assistants and so on.
Selection process
- SSC CHSL Tier 1: computer-based test
- SSC CHSL Tier 2: Descriptive paper
- SSC CHSL Tier 3: Typing and skill test
Age criteria
Maximum: 18 years
Minimum: 27 years
3. SSC Multitasking (non-technical)
The selection commission conducts the annual examination to recruit multi-tasking staff such as a general central service group, Non ministerial posts and soon.

- Paper 1: Computer based examination
- Paper 2: Descriptive
Age Criteria
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 25-27 years
4. SSC stenographers ‘C’ and ‘D’
This examination is a competitive computer-based examination. This examination is used for ministries, departments and organization in the government.
This examination is at a national level.
Selection process
- Paper 1: Computer based examination
- Paper 2: Descriptive

Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 25-27 years
The best way you can prepare for the SSC examination:
- Practice all mock tests,
- Practice the basic concepts of mathematics. Be thorough with them.
- Be in check will current affairs
- Scoring a higher grade in the general knowledge section will gain you more points.
- Grammar is vital during each section.
- Attempt each question with your full ability
- Mock tests in reading comprehension is vital.
- Vocabulary as synonyms, antonyms, phrases are easy scoring part of this examination.
- If there is a difficult question don’t struggle to answer it. Keep moving onto the next questions and come back to the question you are struggling with.
