2. Why SBI Clerical?
Interview to be done away with: Though it has been notified that the interview process will be there subject to the government of India approval, there is very little chance of conducting interviews because of the policy of the new government. Hence, it was necessary to subject the candidates to something else in order to judge their suitability for the posts
• Increased Competition: Though it seems a bit too much to conduct a preliminary examination for recruitment in clerical cadre, the increased competition for these posts has made the authorities do so
• Introducing a cost effective method of elimination: The preliminary examination is conducted with the sole purpose of eliminating candidates as the marks will not be added to the final merit list. Previously, everybody was allowed to sit for the only written examination and evaluating the answer scripts were more difficult
• Evaluation of necessary skills: As an associate in a bank, you have to be prompt and have to have presence of mind. The preliminary examination tests the candidates for these qualities and the ones who possess the same, are allowed to go ahead for further testing
SBI recruitment has always generated a huge response from the job seekers because of the glamour of working with a Fortune 500 organization. In order to get there, you have to give your best and that is what SBI is asking from you. So, go ahead and show the potential you have, the hunger you have for success.

6. Important tips:
Analyze the syllabus and paper pattern
The first thing candidates need to do is to understand the SBI Clerk pattern and marking scheme. Analyze the topics and see which areas will need more time to study and chalk out a plan to give appropriate time to each section.
Practice mock tests:
Candidates must practice a number of previous years’ question papers. Focus on the weak areas more but do not forget to brush up your strong areas as well.
Study Current Affairs:
Understanding current affairs are very important. Candidates must read newspapers daily or check out current affairs to make sure they have a good idea about what is happening across the country.
Make a study plan:
Make a study plan and religiously stick to it. While studying, make notes as it will help to memorise information right then and there. Later, you can use the notes to revise.
Increase speed and accuracy:
Speed is very important as candidates have time constraints. Being accurate is also important as there is a negative marking per incorrect answer.
Revision:
Revise the important formulas, computer terms, and current affairs topics. Don’t try to mug up any new information as you will not be able to retain it. Make sure the important topics are all revised.
- First attempt only those sections in which you are more confident.
- Make a timeline and stick to it.
- Don’t attempt a section for much time.
- If you are able to figure out how to solve it quickly, then go for it. If you are unable to identify how to solve it in less than a minute, skip that question as of now.
- Remember you only get less than a minute to solve a question. So instead of wasting time do other simple questions first.
- Solving 70-80% questions with 100% accuracy is better than solving 100% questions with 70-80% accuracy.
