Some of the common exams taken by the MBA aspirants are:
CAT Full Form: Common Admission Test
Conducting Institute: IIMs
CAT Eligibility: 50% in Graduation for General and 45% for Reserved. Final year students can also apply.
CAT Exam Pattern: CAT is an online exam. It has 3 sections with 3 hours of time resulting in 60 minutes for each section.
Common Admission Test or CAT exam is a common aptitude test which is a gateway to 20 IIMs and over 1200 B-schools in India. CAT is conducted by the IIM in the month of November in online mode in over 156 cities. The exam is held in two slots and the question paper comprises 100 MCQs from Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA).
XAT Full Form: Xavier Aptitude Test
Conducting Institute: Xavier School Of Management
XAT Eligibility: candidates with any bachelor degree can apply. Final year students can also apply.
XAT Exam Pattern: Now XAT is also an online exam. Exam duration is three and a half hours. The exam is divided into two parts. Duration of part 1 is two hours and twenty minutes.
After CAT, XAT MBA entrance exam is the most preferred exam by the Institutions.
XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is national-level management entrance examination conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur for admission to MBA/PGDM programmes. Apart from XLRI and 10 other XAMI members, over 700 B-schools accept XAT scores for admission to their post graduate management programmes. The XAT exam is conducted in online mode at various test centres in 46 cities across India. the question paper consists of 100 questions MCQs from Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge.
SNAP Full Form: Symbiosis National Aptitude Test
SNAP Eligibility: Graduation with 50%, Also final year students can apply.
SNAP Exam Pattern: Duration of the exam is 2 hours. The exam is divided into 4 sections leaving 30 minutes for each section. The exam is objective type with 4 options for every question. 1 mark will be awarded for every right answer and 25% or 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
SNAP is the national level MBA entrance exam for MBA admission 2021in the 16 Symbiosis institutes in India including Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Pune.
IIFT Full Form: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade

IIFT Eligibility: Any Bachelor Degree holder can apply
The IIFT exam is a management aptitude test conducted for admission to MBA International Business course offered by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Delhi, Kolkata and Kakinada. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts IIFT exam in the month of December. About 50,000 candidates appear for the exam from across the country. The question paper consisted of questions from English, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and General Awareness. Duration of this online exam is two hours
CMAT Full Form: Common Management Admission Test
Conducting Institute: AICTE
CMAT Eligibility: Candidates with any bachelor degree with 50% can apply. Final year students can also apply. For reserved candidates, 45% is required.
CMAT or the Common Management Admission Test is an aptitude test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA/PGDM courses in over 1000 B-schools across India. The exam is conducted in online mode and the duration of the exam is three hours and the CMAT question paper consists of 100 questions from Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.
NMAT Full Form: NMIMS Management Aptitude Test
Conducting Institute: Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC)
NMAT Eligibility: Minimum 3 years bachelor degree with 50%
NMAT Exam Pattern: NMAT is an online based Exam with a duration of 2 hours. And there is no negative marking for wrong attempts.
NMAT by GMAC or NMAT is a national-level MBA entrance test conducted for admission to NMIMS University and other reputed B-Schools in India. NMAT exam is a candidate friendly exam. It is designed keeping in mind the convenience of the test takers. Candidates are allowed to choose their preferred date during the testing window as well as self-schedule the test, appointment date, time and venue based on the availability of seats at each test centre.
MAT Full Form: Management Aptitude Test
Conducting Institute: All India Management Association (AIMA)
MAT Eligibility: Any Graduate can apply
MAT Exam Pattern: It is conducted both offline and online. Exam duration is 2 and a half hours. It has 5 sections with 40 questions each with a total of 200 questions. Each section has 30 minutes. ¼ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national-level exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admissions to MBA/PGDM courses.
- The exam is conducted four times in a year, each in February, May, September and December.
- Candidates who qualify the exam are eligible for admissions to 800+ B-schools accepting MAT scores.
- MATis conducted in both offline (paper based test) and online (computer based test) modes. Candidates can choose to appear in the exam in any mode as per their preference. For PBT, they can select up to two test cities. Fees, exam pattern and syllabus for both the modes are same while registrations and exam dates are different.
In addition to these there are various state level examinations that the candidates give for admissions to the top universities or colleges of that particular state.
