Important tips for German C1 and the examinations:
Exam details –
The German C1 examination consists of 4 modules, listening, reading, writing and speaking.
The reading examination will be a duration of 70 minutes. The task will consist of you having to read scripts, commentaries, reviews etc. You will be asked to complete different exercises based on the given passage. You could also be given scenarios where you would need to complete the summary that is given.
The writing examination will consist of a duration of 80 minutes. In this section you would need to write a well-structured passage based on the genre given. Make sure to read the instructions carefully to ensure that you’re covering all the given points as well as having detailed text. Make sure to plan it all out and don’t waver off into another topic. Having a constant idea and topic will keep it on the right track.
The listening part of your examination will be a duration of 40 minutes. This part of the examination will be told to listen to an audio where it could be either a discussion, telephone conversation, interview etc. Whilst the recording is being played make sure to write all the important names, dates etc. Commonly the audios are only played once so writing the information is crucial when it is time to write the answers.
The speaking part will consist of 10-15 minutes. Whilst the 1st part of the exam you will be asked to express yourself based on a short text. Your opinions matter and make sure to put yourself out there and express yourself in the best possible manner. You will then be asked to have a conversation with a partner which could either be a fellow candidate or an examiner. You will be either asked to identify the problem or state the solution. Your focus and confidence is vital in this part of the examination
